Jan Ravens was educated at Homerton College, Cambridge. She was the first female president of Cambridge University Footlights Club (1979 - 1980) and as director of their revue The Cellar Tapes won the first Perrier Award. Her TV work includes performing all the female roles in Dead Ringers (seven series, six on radio, Radio 4 and BBC2); Alistair McGowan's Big Impressions (three series); Bremner Bird and Fortune and the legendary Spitting Image. Additional work for television includes Skins; Love Soup; Janet Grimley in three series of The Grimleys; One Foot In The Grave; Harry Enfield and Chums; Who's Line Is It Anyway?; Have I Got News For You; and Alexei Sayle's Stuff. She has also appeared on Question Time, sat in Dictionary Corner on Countdown, danced with Anton du Beke in Strictly Come Dancing, and she won Celebrity Mastermind, 2008. Theatre work includes The Children's Hour (Manchester Royal Exchange); After Easter and Pentecost (RSC); The Relapse (Chichester Festival Theatre); Tom Jones and Middle Aged Spread (both Watford); Twelfth Night (Birmingham Rep); and stand-up comedy with Funny Women (Edinburgh & London). Jan is a patron of Changing Faces, a charity that supports people with facial disfigurements, and is also an ambassador for Action Aid. Jan is represented by Amanda Howard Associates. |
